Think of Malta and the carnival and you’ll automatically think colour, theatrical costumes and huge carnival floats. There’s no fee for turning up in Valletta wearing a mask and costume, during Carnival time, but you must buy tickets to attend any given party – certainly for the best events. This year Hotel Phoenicia will hold one of the best traditional masked balls in the Grand Ballroom.
